Putting Life Into Perspective

I don’t think it would be too strong to say that nearly everyone is facing disruption in their finances and struggling to pay bills because of the shutdown related to the corona-virus. The words of Jeremiah the prophet, however, put our current situation into perspective.
JEREMIAH 9:23-24
Thus says the Lord:
“Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom,
Let not the mighty man glory in his might,
Nor let the rich man glory in his riches.
But let him who glories, glory in this:
That he understands and knows Me,
That I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness,
judgment, and righteousness in the earth.
For in these I delight,” says the Lord.
Although man boasts about his acquired knowledge, power and wealth, the measure of success is superfluous to one supreme essential—knowing and understanding God!
In spite of the uncertainty inherent in daily life and even more so in the current pandemic, we who enjoy a relationship with God know that He is kind, just and fair in all His actions (v. 24).
Not only do God’s attributes characterize His ordering of world events throughout history, they also define His involvement in our day-to-day experience. The challenges of life are not unknown to God and are often the key to grasping His plan and purposes for us.
The worldwide disruption created by COVID-19 is an opportunity to explore the greatness of our awesome God. Why not invest time and energy in the interim to make knowing God the priority of your life?
